Out with the old, and in with new…But not intentionally

On Friday, April 17th, I was in a car accident, you wouldn't think by looking at the pictures that my car would have been total loss, but it was, so I had to say goodbye.

The accident was kindof scary. Here is the story. We were heading east bound to take Danaka to her game. The road splits into 2 eastbound lanes a little bit before a Walmart entrance. I had just changed lanes. The lane next to me was backed up, but a truck had just left enough room from a guy heading westbound to make a left turn into Walmart, by the time I saw him it was too late. Note to all you moms out there, NEVER, I repeat never throw your arm in front of your child sitting in the front seat. I did and took a nice trip to the hospital for a minor case of whiplash and a lot of strained muscles on the right side. I knew I was okay, in A LOT of pain but nothing serious, but as a "precaution" still visited the ER. My girls thank goodness were perfect, and I was better in a few days.

It was all the other drivers fault which is good for me, and I got a new car out of it. I love my new car but miss my grand prix.

My New Joy Ride...

Hair, Hair & Hair

I LOVE doing hair…I just wanted to post Jayci's wedding day hair do, but I can't just say Wedding Day, because then most everyday would be a wedding day. I am sorry sweet J that I like to do hair, one day you will appreciate it.

Presenting…Mr & Mrs.

On April 16th, my little brother and Danica were married in the Mt. Timpanogos temple. It was a cold day following a night of snow fall, but it was beautiful.

I did my brother and Danica's video montage and was so excited to show it at their luncheon. I even took a ton of great pics at the temple that I had put in. It started playing just fine when all of the sudden half way through it just stopped. I was so sad. I went behind the head table and tried to get it to work and just cried. Come to find out that the program I use to convert it to a dvd was not complete. I had just got a new computer and it transferred the program but not the authorization so it only gives you the "trial" version, which will only transfer ½ over. Oh well, we got it fixed for the reception and that is all that matters. It was all Danica's dad's fault though. He was speaking about having things go wrong and they already had 2 strikes. That is right before I started the video, so I can't take full blame.

Here are some that I took at the temple. Following the photographer around the temple to get pics, made me really want her camera so my pics would be even better…maybe one day J

Here are some of me and my girls that the photographer took, and also some of Danica's bridals and a few other shots from the day. She did a great job.

Didn't my cousin do an AMAZING job on their cake. Way to go Nicci.

Easter time!

Easter was so much fun this year. Jayci knew what was going on and Danaka is still my little girl who gets excited.

On Saturday the girls went to the Turner's for their Easter Egg hunt and dinner…I love these pics

They make it impossible for the older ones to find all their eggs! Creative work guys!

We had a great Easter Sunday. I have a new calling in my ward as a teacher in Relief Society. I will post more about that later, but that made the day even busier.

I love this picture of my girlies looking at eachother.

The best part about Easter was when showed up to my Nana's, my sweet Nana who is so innocent and thought the following was an Easter shirt. She loved the bunny on it. Oh my sweet Nana.
We had a great dinner and a great egg hunt. Jayci is going to be one to watch out for in the upcoming years! She knew what she needed to do, with a little help from "PaPa" (I love that she calls my dad that).

The Easter Bunny even came on Saturday night and brought me and my girls Marley and Me and some yummy treats. Thanks!

Take me out to the Ball Game!

The past 2 years Danaka has played softball, last year was a horrible year, Danaka did great, but we just won't get in to the coaching staff, this year however was Awesome. Danaka moved up to play 14 & Up. I was so worried about her moving up, but now am so grateful that she did. She had terrific coaches, Mike, Brad, Brian and Ryan. They cared out about the girls, but also liked winning. Danaka's team didn't win one game last year, so this year to win all but 2 was so much fun.

Danaka mostly played short and second, and when they played a harder team that could hit far, she would play the outfield. There was one game where she was standing in right field and a ball came towards her, a little high, I thought no way, I know what a bad mom, but dance came in to play and she did a little leap backwards and caught the ball. She looked at her glove in amazement, then looked at me holding it up. I was so excited for her and the look on her face was priceless.

Danaka's team the "wild frogs" had an awesome season. They do this one thing were someone yells "Wild" and the all yell "Frogs" and get into position. I love it.

They came in second place, but had to play on a Saturday after closing ceremonies, because they were tied with the only team they had lost too, and we were the only team they had lost too. It was an exciting game, but they ended up losing. But hey second place is great.

Thanks to the coaches this year, and thanks to the Vandertoolen's for making Dan move up and for helping me out so much. You guys are great.

Danaka, I am so proud of you. You came so far this year, and I am so excited to continue to watch you grow in a sport that you love so much. Way to go MuNcHkIn!

Happy 80th Birthday Nana

February 11th was my Nana's 80th birthday. We planned a surprise Luau for her. It was my job or should I say my privilege to take my Nana to have her hair done that day, she thought that we were just all meeting for dinner. All day she kept telling me, you guys aren't planning anything other than dinner right? I will not be happy if you are. My nana has never given me the third degree, but I guess there is a first for everything.

We invited tons of family and some great friends. We rented out a building to have it in so that we would have enough room. For those of you that don't know my uncle is Tongan and does shows with this family. They are always so much fun. I use to hula with my cousins when I was little, but started to develop a little bit of a complex when I was the only white girl out there, and I have to admit I just couldn't shake it like they can.

My aunt made tons of great food, pulled pork, salads, everything you can imagine at a Luau. My cousin Nicci, made the cake and it was beautiful. I am not one to take pics of food, but I couldn't resist on this.

It was my other Aunt's job to get my nana there, and she did great. She told her that she just had to pick Jackie (mu aunt) up for dinner, because my uncle was out of town.

The grandkids each got to say something about Nana, the ones that spoke did great. My sister did the best poem about my nana. If you want to read it click here She did a great job. Since I am not a great writer and not the best talker I decided to make a video of my grandmas life. It was so fun to see all the pictures and learn a little bit more about my sweet Nana.

It was a great party, and a great way to honor and FANTASTIC woman. I love you Nana.

Skiing…

I love to ski, and love that Danaka shares in my love. A few years ago Santa brought Danaka ski lessons, she had so much fun learning it that she wanted to do it again the next year. My parents thought it would be fun for the grandkids to all learn so that is their gift to the girls for Christmas. We had so much this year. All of them (Danaka, K'Lynn and Kandace) are all so fun. It is funny to see personalities come through on the slopes. Danaka likes speed and jumps but is cautious. K'Lynn is a lot like me, take it slow and enjoy the ride, Kandace on the other had scares me. She is quite the dare devil. I remember one time last year taking her down the bunny hill, she wated to go fast, so down she came, I am skiing behind her and thought for sure she was going to hit the tree that quickly coming up. I yelled Kandace sit, Kandace sit, Kandace sit down. She did just as I said the third time, got up laughing and said that was fun. This past season Kandace came down way before anyone else in her class and when she was asked where her teacher was she simply replied "He was too slow, so I left".

Since I had Jay, I don't get to ski as much as I would like, so we all have our little party in the lodge while the girls are off skiing.

I love the mountains and I love skiing, I love being up there with Danaka, just doing something that we both love and no pressure to perform or ski a certain way.

Thanks for a good season Danaka. I can't wait for next year.

Have I said how much I love being up there.

Jayci trying to get gloves on to head out…2 more years Jay and you will be out there.

She is one cute skiing chick!!!

Updates are coming TODAY!!!

I have so much to post about and will hopefully have them all out today.
